Joseph Olszewski, RN, MS, LNHA,
seasoned healthcare industry executive and long-time senior care
advocate is committed to success as Administrator at Regency Grande.
While drawing on extensive experience in the healthcare industry, Joseph
Olszewski, recently named administrator of Regency Grande Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, passionately looks toward the future as the newest member of the proud Regency family. According to Mr. Olszewski, the goal for the Center is to continue the tradition of quality care so that Regency Grande is recognized as the premier skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation facility in the area.
Mr. Olszewski began his 25-year career early. An Ocean County native, he
was still in high school when he first gained nursing home experience through an internship. He continued to rise through the ranks and to gain hands-on experience working in various departments of nursing facilities while seeking a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. After earning his RN licence, he also gained a Master's in Healthcare Administration and later served as a Complaint Investigator at the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. During his time of government service, Mr. Olszewski investigated complaints and deficiencies at nursing homes across New Jersey while continuing to advocate for the elderly.
"What drew me to Regency Grande was the precise match between my goals
and aspirations as an administrator and the Regency mission, which begins with the founder and permeates everything and everyone here," said Mr. Olszewski. "I have always believed in compassionate care, in the power of the patient- centered approach and in dedication to total quality in the day-to-day delivery of care and services. It is refreshing and energizing to be able to play a role in an organization that has long been a leader in all of these areas."
In official surveys, Regency Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers have
consistently been ranked at the top of the list of New Jersey skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities. Yet as Mr. Olszewski attests, after only a few weeks in his new post it is clear that going above and beyond what is required by State and Federal regulations is the norm at Regency. "You can tell you are at Regency by just glancing at the activity schedule. Here we have more than twice the number of activity staff of most facilities and provide a wide variety of exciting activity programs every day. The commitment to activity programs is unprecedented, quite frankly, I'm blown away."
"While some may consider this a relatively small matter, in fact, it perfectly
illustrates an overriding philosophy of care that tells us: always do what's right for the people we care for. In that way, we firmly believe we will ensure the fullest possible lives for our residents and patients," he added. |

Lucia Limbach, RN
Corporate Clinical Director at Regency Park
I walked through the doors of Regency Park one cold December day. It was
my first day as the new Director of Nursing. I was greeted with welcoming smiles. The Food Service Manager appeared with hot coffee, pastry and best wishes.
That was over twelve years ago.
Since then, Regency Park became a part of me. It became my "other" family, to
be nurtured and loved. I've watched it grow and blossom into the beautiful and special place it has become. I've received as much as I have given.
Over the years, all my hopes and aspirations were realized. We worked very
hard tot et to the top. Our reputation speaks for itself. And, when it became apparent that my mother needed long term care, Regency was the only choice. I had her with me for five years. I did not expect nor demand special attention for her because all our residents receive the same wonderful, loving care. She spent the last years of her life amongst the most gently of people.
I am no longer the Director of Nursing. Since 1998, I've held a corporate
position,, overseeing both our skilled nursing facilities. My days are full and blessed because I now have "two" families to love, nurture and guide. |

Carol Lumley-Spock
Admissions Director at Regency Gardens
Regency is like home to me and not just because I've been working here for 25
years. It's because the staff and the residents are so warm and friendly. I even bring my dachshund, Avery, to work with me. I love the way the residents eyes light up when Avery sidles over and lets them stroke his back, or when they sing "Happy Birthday" to him at his party every year.
I met my husband, Ted, here when his mother became a resident. In the Fall,
when we were married we had our wedding photos taken on the beautiful grounds of the facility.
What started as a part-time job has led to a very rewarding career -- as nursing
assistant, therapist, Activities Director, and now Director of Admissions at Regency Gardens. I feel blessed that what I do for a living makes a difference in so many lives.
When my grandmother needed nursing home care, there was no question that
Regency was the place for her. I knew that, in no time at all, Grandma would feel right at home. |
